The Point of The

Thursday, January 24th, 2008

I search for things
Unseen,
Unknown.

But I am in a world
Felt, Experienced.

My senses are numb
From this limitation

But God

Has shown me
The Way
The Truth
The Life.

I say it again. Emphasize.
"The" Way
"The" Truth
"The" Life

Do you hear it?
"The"!

Now, I see.

Happy Ever After.

When does waiting
Become vain, futile, nothing

When is hope
Blank, null, and dope

Never. If there’s right reason.

If You’re the reason

Sunshine shall come thereafter
Though not now, it shall arrive

Happy ever after.

Picture This
I’m lost
Middle of Nowhere
That side leads to one thing
This side leads to another

Panoramic. Breathtaking
As I see thunderclouds
Rain hail on the desert landscape
And as history repeats itself
Again and again
and again.

Flashbacks I see
Of long lost things
Previews I witness
Of things yet to come

This picture
Of great complexity
And ambiguity

Picture this picture

Frustrating

Yet Fleeting.

It’s temporary. Now I can breathe.

When Something is Everything

Sunday, January 20th, 2008

I am in a store.
Looking for items
Items to spend my money on.
An item catches my attention.
A pearl of stunning beauty.
I walk toward it.
I notice something

A price tag.

I go away. But not dismayed.
I shall trade all my possessions for this pearl.
The pearl that I can call my everything.
I know that it is worthier,
far more worthier,
than all the things I have

More than myself.

I come back.
And buy the pearl.

When something is everything
One would trade his life
for it if needed.

Notice
Everything fails
But Jesus.

Now, that’s everything.

Care to trade?

The Solution To Who I Am

Sunday, January 20th, 2008

I am

Subjective
Objective
Normative

I am

Yesterday
Today
Tomorrow

I am

Permanent
Temporary
Stable
Fleeting

I am

What I know
What I don’t
What is
What isn’t

I am

absolute
relative
general
specific

I am

sanguine
choleric
phlegmatic
melancholic

I am

confused.

Who shall save me, then?
from complexity’s jungle?

Jesus, who puts in place
things in disorder
Who called things
which
were not
as though they are.

The absolute truth.

The Way
The Truth
The Life

The Solution.

Things Indisposable

Thursday, January 17th, 2008

It’s cold outside
Sudden drop

Really cold.

My head hurts
I feel dizzy

Really dizzy.

It’s OK
if it’s cold outside
as long as
I’m not cold inside

It’s OK
if I have a headache
as long as
I don’t have a heartache.

There are things inevitable
But there exist
things indisposable.

giving up can mean another thing

Tuesday, January 15th, 2008

So tired
So blank
So empty

I think I can’t go on
Can’t hold on

I Give Up

Wait. Re-think

Why?

There is
Excess baggage.
That’s why.

Instead of giving up the race
I give up the bag
to get another bag

The prize of the upward call
in Christ Jesus

I’ll take hold
of that which Christ
Took hold of me.

Hi! About the poverty debate. Let us elaborate.

1. On having riches - there’s nothing wrong about having
wealth, as long as it is within God’s will. To clarify more, Jesus’ invitation
to the disciple at his time to leave their riches behind was a call of the
time, Jesus was setting an example. They even had a treasurer, who is Judas
Iscariot (before he betrayed). Why is that? One may think. It is because
without money, we cannot feed the poor that much, we cannot send missionaries
effectively. Yes, it can be done without money, but God gave us common sense so
that we can do things. What about divine intervention? God does not always provide miracles (if we
define them as supernatural happenings). The book of Proverbs even instructs us
to be industrious. The apostle Paul also told a certain group believers to work
for their food because that group thought that "Oh, well. Christ is
coming, so let’s just wait for Him". God gave wealth for a reason. The
only trap is that it shouldn’t be our lord.

2. On Joel Osteen. There is nothing wrong with a big house,
a higher than average living, as long as it is expedient for God to use you to
do His call. In his case, God called Him to be a pastor in

Texas

, now it will be easier for Him to
preach and manage the church if he would be given certain financial and living
space. Of course there are times that God let us experience seasons of lack,
just for us to see that He is the one who provides. As for the christians in
the early days of Christianity, their case was they were persecuted, so it is
consequent that they were not of great riches, for their lives are in danger.
They were forced to go under, to work behind the scenes, secretly, so that they
may live to preach more, except if God’s time for them to go home, to heaven.

Should I be wrong in one or more of these, just remember
that the principle underlying all of these is that we should see the Bible’s
principles in context and in the light of each other. Cross-referencing (that
means checking other verses) may give us a hint of what a bible idea is. For
the Bible is a coherent and consistent book of principle of God given to us,
with common sense and divine knowledge. Both are allowed by God at different
times though at times with each other.

Just balance. :]

Hope this clears all things up. God bless you all! Seize
your destiny! :]

Cry Out To Jesus (adapted)

Sunday, January 13th, 2008

To the bereaved who have lost someone they love
To the marriage who have lost their faith in love

There is hope
A heart away

Cry out to Jesus

To the people with burdens and pain
keeping them back from their life
To them who can’t break through addictions and chains
struggling to get out but come back again

There is hope
A heart away

Cry out to Jesus

He who calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Adapted from Third Day’s song "Cry Out To Jesus". Try it on YouTube! :]
GB to all of you! :] God loves You (You may investigate what the meaning of that love is and find it wonderful.) :]

A Letter to a Friend.

Siguro dapat mo nang patawarin iyung mga taong may kasalanan sa ‘yo. Try reading the Bible. Jesus said that if a man sins against us, we must not forgive him 7 times but 77 times, which means contextually that we should forgive anytime. Forgiving doesn’t mean that you will let yourself be exploited next time, but forgiving means that you let go of the past and that you let God take control of your jurisdictional emotions. Sabi nga ni Paul, "I press on toward the goal for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus". The goal there, if one should go back a few sentences, is to know and experience Christ more. Paul was a great secular man - pharisee, etc. But he counted all those as rubbish - basura - compared to what God has in store for him, which is the closeness to God. Sabi din sa Corinthians na the sufferings of this world are not worthy to be compared that will be revealed to us kapag kasama na natin ang Lord. Yes, we work and study and do other necessary things to fulfill God’s destiny in our lives here on earth but let us: Leave what we must leave behind Hold on to what we must hold on to Pursue what God lays in front of us. Sabi nga sa United eh, "I have decided to press on, to take hold of that which Christ took hold of me". Let’s hold on dear to the reason why Christ took hold of us. Just in case that you are in a faith struggle with God. Just be open, like a scientist. Investigate and you will see that God is true and faithful to what He really is. Maybe the God you know isn’t the God really is. Yep, the God who really is. I don’t know your situation but I’ve been there - in that place of being torn between two worlds. God bless you! God has more in store for your life! Seize your destiny! God has a breakthrough to pour in your life. You just have to leave behind, hold on, and strain forward! Blessed Sentenaryu pala ehe. Pati na rin sa lahat! Birthday ko dun sa first day nun, Feb 11. La lang, ehe! Miss ko na kayo diyan! :]
